Book-a-Day (again, but this time for real!)

Hey, friends! A bunch of my picture book buddies are doing a book-a-day marathon this month, and I figured that peer pressure is what I need to avoid January's fiasco.

A cover concept for my new picture book.

I recently sold I SPEAK DINOSAUR to a publisher, and I've been stressing about what illustration process to use. This is looking pretty good, I think.

Dino Doodles!

These sketches are my tryouts to paint several highly accurate, scientific murals at the Museum of Natural History in New York. I took great care to adhere to the current theory that dinosaurs had googly eyes and cute, chubby proportions.

Ok, fine. They're for a kids' book.







While doing the research for these sketches, I discovered my new favorite dinosaur, and the name of my next child: Pachyrhinosaurus!

My daughter got a toy stroller for Christmas, which she promptly wanted to use outside. The only problem was the snow.
